Timber framing was invented way back in ought-nothin' by a bunch of bubs using the tools and material they had at hand. After a while they got really good at it, and wooden structures support many kinds of really cool, really old buildings throughout the world.

Then things changed. People needed faster and easier ways to build and they figured out ways to do it. Timber framing became irrelevant and took a powder. Then things changed again. People re-discovered the charm of old timber buildings, so they re-invented timber framing, and here we are.

We're not really flippant. In fact, we deeply respect our craft. We are informed by our roots, but not bound by them. Our buildings are required to perform at levels of service without historical precedent. They are very complex, and are required by law to conserve energy, weather wind storms, and withstand earthquakes with little damage to property.
